Gabriela Gonzales holds a Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University and is a bilingual (English/Spanish) mental health professional specializing in trauma-informed care, maternal mental health, and women’s reproductive mental health.
With extensive clinical experience, Gabriela has worked in crisis assessment and stabilization, supporting high-acuity individuals in community settings. She is particularly experienced in treating survivors of sexual violence across the lifespan, from young children to adults, using evidence-based, trauma-focused approaches.
Gabriela is trained in multiple evidence-based therapies, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT), Alternatives for Families CBT (AF-CBT), play therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), allowing her to provide effective and efficient trauma treatment tailored to each client’s needs.
In addition to her clinical work, Gabriela has supported Active-Duty Service members and their families, and brings a strong background in clinical supervision, mentoring associate therapists, and training graduate interns. She is also a qualified interpreter and translator, ensuring accessible and culturally responsive mental health services for Spanish-speaking communities.
As the Founder and Executive Director of Comunidad Therapy, Gabriela is committed to increasing representation in mental health, reducing barriers to care, and helping individuals. Gabriela is not accepting clients at this time.
